So BETT 2010 day 1 is over. The day started with the stand briefing by Microsoft staff for all of us working on the stand for the day and then the fun started.
I was assigned to one of the Windows 7 pods and I daren't even try to count up how many demos of Windows 7 I have given today. I seemed to have shown people everything from the search feature to the multi touch feature, which is really cool
So after 1 day what would I recommend
Windows 7 (obviously)
The pod team can show you some really cool features and if you are contemplating deployment then come and see me as that is my definite field of expertise
Office 2010 Beta
The team doing these demos know all there is to know about the new features in Office 2010 and remember you can download the Beta for free
Dreamspark
FREE SOFTWARE, yes free software that students can download which includes Visual Studio, SQL, Expression Web and plenty more. They also have some really cool software to create games for the X-Box
Comet
Want to talk home access then come and talk to the people from Comet on the Microsoft stand as they are the experts
SharePoint
You have two options here, you can talk to the guys from Twyhnam School about their SharePoint story and also get a web part giveaway. You can also talk to the team manning the SharePoint 2010 pod about the amazing new version.
Live@Edu
Come and speak to this pod team about a free way of running Exchange and other software in a Microsoft hosted environment – and yes its free
And Finally
Make sure you check out the presentations they are fantastic
I look forward to seeing you at BETT 2010 if you can make it
