SharePoint Learning Kit

SharePoint Learning Kit is available from www.codeplex.com/slk

SLK is used to assign individuals documents that they have to review, download and edit, answer the questions etc...

SLK is SCORM compliant which enable schools to create learning content from such programs as MS Class Server Teacher and assign it pupils where they have to then answer the questions within the document.  When the pupil has completed the assignment the server automatically marks the answers and lets the teacher know the marks they got.  The teacher can see the answer they got, leave a comment for the pupil and also let the pupil know which answer they got wrong.  The server can do it all if you set it up to.  All you have to do is assign it to the individual.

If you install SLK to your site you will see in the zip file you downloaded a SCORM 1.4 file (soliatre.zip).  Upload it to a documents area and click on the drop down menu of the file. Click on E-Learning Actions and view the resource yourself.

Of course SLK could be used for internal training - its not just a school product.

I'll post a lot more of SLK in the future.  There are a lot of uses.

I am setting up SLK for our school.  I have the basics - an automated connection to the MIS that builds class sites, sets up teachers and students etc.  Now I've stubbed my toe over a major issue.  Unlike class server resources all the Scorm creation programs I've tried don't allow online marking.  I know there are workarounds but, if I create an essay based question in Class Server Teacher client, it performs perfectly in the Sharepoint 2007 SLK environment.  We don't want to keep our old Class Server site going, is there a tool, preferably not too expensive which will let us create assignments which can be reviewed by the instructor, rather than simply the marks being held.

Thanks in advance.

Hi There,

Need assistant in the below scenario,

Software Configuration

-----------------------------

Software experiencing problem: Class Server 4.0

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

Problem Description

-------------------------

One of our schools is using class server 4.0. There was an error in creating, editing & viewing learning resources in class server teacher client. When I tried to troubleshoot, I found that the windows security update KB956844 (Windows XP) that is pushed down and installed causes this issue. This update KB956844 changes the character encoding from UTF-8 to unicode in the Class server-teacher learning resource editor, hence it results in the error below when I try to create, edit or preview the learning resources.

"This page does not use UTF-8 encoding. You can change this in your default HTML editor. On the advanced menu click edit in default HTML editor and then save the page using the UTF-8 encoding, or you can delete the page and then re-create it."

We realize that un-installation of the above update will resolve this issue. But since the school controls the windows update process of all the computers in the domain, there is no use in uninstalling any update as it gets installed back.

Greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Best Regards
